Easyhealth was set up in response to the demand for accessible or Easy Read health information for people with learning disabilities and was launched in 2008 with Section 64 Funding from the Department of Health.
There are three key focuses for Easyhealth:
- An online library, Easyhealth collates and freely disseminates accessible health information for people with learning disabilities, their informal support networks and health professionals.
- The design and delivery of training to health professionals and the wider community by the Easyhealth Team that includes trainers with and without learning disabilities
- The translation of health information into easy-read format, spoken word and film.
